Calne St Mary Bells

Sunday - Service ringing 09.15 - 10.00
Friday - Practice night
19.30 - 21.00

St Mary's Church is a focal point for the town of Calne. It's imposing tower was built in the second half of the 17th century and is where the bells are situated. The bells can be heard across the town.

This website provides information about the current ringing, the history of the bells and, most importantly, details about our major tower, bells and clock restoration project. Go to the Bell Tower Project page for more information and for details of how you can help us.

Visiting ringers, visitors and learners are very welcome to join us for practice or service ringing.

We practice almost every Friday night. Even if we think we might be short of ringers, we turn up just in case there are any visiting ringers. If by 8.00 pm we are still short, then we abort the practice.

If we have to cancel a practice, normally due to a service or concert in the church, details will be posted here.

If you want to see us ringing the bells, then come along on a Friday evening or on a Sunday morning.
