Calne St Mary Bells

Sunday - Service ringing 09.15 - 10.00
Friday - Practice night
19.30 - 21.00

St Mary's Church is a focal point for the town of Calne. It is the only Grade 1 listed building in the town and as such is of importance to the town's heritage and sense of civic pride.

It's imposing tower was built in the second half of the 17th century after the former crossing tower collapsed in 1638. It is a 4-stage tower of about 90 feet (27m) in height and this is where the bells are situated. The bells can be heard across the town.

This website provides information about the current ringing, the history of the bells and, most importantly, details about our major tower, bells and clock restoration project.

Due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, all ringing at Calne St Mary is cancelled until further notice.
